So now you know. If you own a Mosin-Nagant rifle – a firearm that finds favor amongst TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia – you own a “fetish rifle for hardcore inurrectionists.” I’m not entirely sure what the Campaign to Stop Gun Violence means by “hardcore.” Something to do with the Mosin-Nagant’s stout recoil? As for “insurrectionists,” that’s easy! That’s what the CSGV calls anyone who shares Sam Adams’ beer. I mean, Samuel Adams’ view that . . .

The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.

Yes, peaceable. Until, God forbid, they are forced to defend their lives and liberty from criminals or their own government. Make of that you will. We know what the CSGV makes of it: justification to degrade and destroy Americans’ natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms.

As for the CSGV’s press release, which labeled the above protest an example of “intimidation” – I’ll let Thomas Jefferson’s letter to James Madison on January 30, 1787 have the last word: “I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.”

Too much? It is for you-know-who. For you?
