Young 11 Year Old Fatally Shoots Home Invader With One Shot

This story is hitting national news as one 11 year old boy, who was home alone with his 4 year old sister, fatally shot one of the two teenagers trying to break into the house.

The young boy fired a single shot that struck the 16 year old home invader in the head. The suspect walked through the unlocked front door around 2:30 pm. Police report that the second suspect ran after the shot was fired. The other was found by police lying in the front foyer of the home.

The proper authorities are talking to the mother to find out why the children were left unattended and how the young kid had such easy access to a firearm. The mother is believed to have purchased the firearm after previous attempts of break-ins. Police say she is cooperating with them in the investigation.

St. Louis police are still investigating the shooting. They are asking any witnesses to help in the investigation by coming forward with any additional information.
