Melissa Bachman Winchester Deadly Passion

Sitting it out in a ground blind near a stock dam at Warne Ranches in eastern South Dakota, Bachman’s comfort level with her bow range is tested time and again as bucks come into the watering hole, but are just far enough out of range.

“We were there a bit before the rut, so there was some movement and aggression between the bucks,” said Bachman. “Regardless of what the bucks were doing, they all needed water. Does, young bucks and pheasants were all coming to the water – so I was constantly entertained, but there were no shooters within archery range.
