West Virginia’s Campus Self-Defense Act (SB 10) Signed by Gov. Justice

GOA West Virginia State Director, Alex Shay, with Governor Jim Justice at the signing.

It’s a great day for West Virginians! Governor Jim Justice just signed a GOA-backed bill, known as Campus Self-Defense Act (SB 10), into law. This means that law-abiding citizens in West Virginia may now exercise their Second Amendment rights on college campuses across the state.
The days of college students and faculty having to enter a college campus, while checking their Second Amendment rights at the gate, are over. They now have the freedom to arm themselves at their discretion to protect themselves and others. No longer are West Virginia universities and colleges forced to be easy targets for criminal attacks.
May the actions of the WV legislature and the Governor set a supreme example for other states to allow their college students, faculty, and staff to defend themselves.
Our West Virginia State Director, Alex Shay, had the privilege to attend the signing along with the great people of West Virginia.
GOA thanks Gov. Justice and the WV legislators that supported this and will continue to fight for Campus Carry in other states.
