For the second time in its history, the NYPD released body camera footage, this time showing two NYPD officers discharging their weapons during an encounter with a knife-wielding suspect in the Bronx back in November. Watch the graphic NYPD body cam footage of the incident above, and read the short press release below detailing exactly what went down that day.

Two officers responded to a call of an assault in progress with a knife at 1974 Hughes Ave, Bronx at approximately 7:47 PM. The officers encountered two female victims in the lobby who had sustained knife wounds. The officers then confronted Cornell Lockhart, a 67-year-old male, in the lobby. He was armed with a knife in his right hand. After repeatedly commanding Mr. Lockhart to drop the knife, both officers discharged their firearms, striking Mr. Lockhart. The officers fired their weapons 9 times. Mr. Lockhart succumbed to his injuries.
