We got the chance to send some rounds downrange at the recent Athlon Outdoor Rendezvous, and Mossberg’s newest long-range bolt gun impressed. Capable for hunting or long-range competition, the remarkable low price makes the new Patriot Predator an instant competitor in what is becoming a very popular category.

Mossberg 6.5 PRC Patriot Predator

The new 6.5 PRC Patriot Predator comes with either a Flat Dark Earth or True Timber Strata camouflage synthetic stock. Matte blue metal adorns the former, while the latter sports a Patriot Brown Cerakote.

The rifles feature Mossberg’s twin-lug, push-feed machined-steel action. It feeds from a lightweight polymer, flush four-round box magazine. The standard contour, free-floating 24-inch barrel features a 1:8 twist. Straight-edge fluting 5/8″-24 threading for suppressors adds versatility. It ships with a protective cap as well. Meanwhile, the barrel is constructed of carbon steel, featuring a matte blue or Cerakote finish.
