The Anaheim Ducks took their “Military Appreciation Night” to a whole new level Sunday night, and it was pretty epic.

Last year, the Ducks had a bomb-diffusing robot drop the puck at center ice. This year, the Ducks invited Corporal Nero — a bomb-sniffing dog — and his handler, Lance Corporal Brandon C. Benningfield to do the honors.

Nero dropped the ceremonial puck with ease between Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf and Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano.

Joining Nero on the ice were members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, U.S Special Forces Soldiers from Special Operations Detachment North, and the 128th Quartermaster Rigger Support Team, along with Ducks owners, Henry and Susan Samueli.
