In this photo taken May 20, 2015, Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., poses for a portrait before an interview with The Associated Press in Washington. For Democrats who had hoped to lure Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren into a presidential campaign, independent Sen. Bernie Sanders might be the next best thing. Sanders, who is opening his official presidential campaign Tuesday in Burlington, Vermont, aims to ignite a grassroots fire among left-leaning Democrats wary of Hillary Rodham Clinton. He is laying out an agenda in step with the party's progressive wing and compatible with Warren's platform _ reining in Wall Street banks, tackling college debt and creating a government-financed infrastructure jobs program. Bernie Sanders has gone on record saying that all guns need to be banned except one used for hunting only. Below is an exert from NBC’s Meet the Press:

“Nobody should have a gun who has a criminal background, who’s involved in domestic abuse situations. People should not have guns who are going to hurt other people, who are unstable. And second of all I believe that we need to make sure that certain types of guns used to kill people, exclusively, not for hunting, they should not be sold in the United States of America, and we have a huge loophole now with gun shows that should be eliminated.”

Let’s be clear. Handguns, Shotguns, Rifles, and anything else that fires should be ripped from the hands of all law abiding citizens according to the senator. I am definitely not liking his stance about gun rights at all. The Washington Post admits that Sanders won his senate seat because his rival was supporting a ban on assault weapons.

With him announcing his run in the presidential race, we can plainly see where his stance is on whether he is pro-gun or not.
