Lincoln, NE -(AmmoLand.com)- Learn about leather working, bats, raptors and Teddy Roosevelt during a new speaker series this summer at Two Rivers State Recreation Area (SRA).

Programs will take place evenings during June, July and August. All programs are family-friendly and offered free-of-charge to park visitors.

Programs scheduled for this summer are:

  • June 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m.: Tandy Leather will give a presentation on the variety of uses of leather, as well as on how to make products from leather. At the end of the presentation, kids will make a cowhide bookmark that they can take home.
  • July 9, 9-10 p.m.: Michael Whitby of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will give a presentation on bats. If you do not know much about bats, and you have always wanted to learn about them, this hands-on presentation is a great way for people of all ages to do so.
  • July 16, 7-8 p.m.: Historian, actor and entertainer Darrell Draper will present as Teddy Roosevelt. Travel back in time, and learn about Mr. Roosevelt’s greatest adventures.
