Certified to stop most handgun rounds, the 14-pounds Alpha Shield is designed to provide a good deal of protection in the form of ballistic steel across the upper body, if used correctly.
Matt with Demolition Ranch checks out the $299 shield from Hardcore Defense, which is NIJ Level IIIA rated. On the bright side, it can stop .44 Magnum out of a handgun, but of course its rifle rating is much less.
How much less?
