Teen Shot And Killed By Off-Duty Police Officer During Xbox Sale Gone Wrong

CHESTERFIELD, VIRGINIA — A teenage boy thought that he’d make a quick score by robbing a person who was meeting him to sell an Xbox. It couldn’t have gone any worse for him, as the person he encountered was an off-duty police officer.

Local news reports;

Chesterfield police Major Frank Carpenter said the off-duty officer was an associate of a man who had agreed to sell the electronic gaming system to the teenager in the parking lot of the Chestertowne Shopping Center.

Carpenter said there was an exchange of gunfire between the officer and the teen when the boy pulled out a pistol.

An Xbox was apparently more valuable than human life to this teen, who died at the scene during the exchange.

The officer was shot in the torso, but luckily sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Meeting anyone for a sale can be risky business, and it’s always a good idea to meet in a public place such as a parking lot. It didn’t deter this teen, however, but the intended target was prepared and ready to defend himself.
