The House approved a measure Thursday to allow limited hunting with guns on Sundays and the Senate is likely to do the same next week.

The House voted 88-26 for the compromise bill negotiators for the two chambers worked out after the House and Senate passed different versions of the bill earlier this year.

Senate approval seems likely since the compromise bill is little different from the measure senators approved 34-13 on May 28. The bill is scheduled for a vote Monday evening, then would go on to Gov. Pat McCrory for his consideration.
