For hunting, self-defense and general shooting, the Steinel 6.5x52mm Carcano load delivers the original accuracy performance, according to Steinel Ammunition. The new loading serves a market of millions of surplus Carcano rifles.
The new load utilizes soft point, expanding bullets, providing excellent terminal performance and accuracy, without compromising reliable feeding, according to Steinel. The cartridge delivers 1,770 fps muzzle velocity, with significantly lighter recoil than the original. At shorter ranges, the bullet expands to 0.516-inch with 39 inches of penetration in gel, according to Steinel.
