USA –-(Ammoland.com)- KSNV TV News 3 and The Associated Press reported Friday 06-30-2017, The U. S. Forest Service has issued a temporary shooting ban for the public in the Carson Ranger District due to fire danger.

That District covers more than 625 square miles of land both in Nevada and California. People are prohibited from shooting in the district between June 30th and September 30th, unless they are hunting.

The Forest Service says there have been nine fires in the region where target shooting is suspected. (Probably more by the time this is printed)

Anyone who violates the restriction could be punished with a fine of up to $5,000 or six months in jail.

Comment:

The Forest Service sells maps of where the prohibited areas are for $10 each, call (575) 758-6200.

Several States are suing careless campers that started fires for the millions it cost to fight them, be very careful!
