Savage Fox A Grade Series shotguns shipping to dealers

Savage Arms’s new shotgun series shipped to dealers this month, the company said in a press release last week.
The Fox A Grade series — first announced in April — continues Savage’s  “heritage of craftsmanship with shotguns that handle gracefully, point naturally and hit hard.”
For just under $5,000, customers can choose from 26-inch or 28-inch barrels, chambered in either 12 or 20 gauge.
“The Fox A Grade Series features the same components and style that have made all Fox shotguns the envy of collectors,” the company said in a press release Thursday. “Each of the four box-lock side-by-sides in the series features a beautifully checkered American black walnut stock, splinter fore-end and a bone and charcoal case color-finished receiver.”
The launch comes amidst dismal earnings for Savage’s holding company Vista Outdoor, which reported a 10 percent decline in sales last quarter, according to financial filings.
Interim CEO Michael Callahan told investors August 10 the company launched 150 new products this summer, three times more than 2016.
