Rick Ector Speaks at Councilman Tate’s Gun Violence Forum

It was my honor to participate in Councilman Tate’s panel discussion on Gun Violence last night.

I shared my experiences about being an armed robbery victim in my own driveway. It was that event that led me to become a NRA certified firearm Instructor. My victimization has let to the training of many of our fellow citizens take a more active role in their personal protection.

I also had an opportunity to talk about my annual community service event that trains women how to operate a handgun. This year’s event led to 700 women learning how to safely discharge a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

I had a great night.
