On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co. we delve into the “red flag” laws that President Trump and others have been talking about in the wake of the attacks in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. I speak with Jim Wallace, executive director of the Gun Owners Action League in Massachusetts, about the fundamental flaws in the state’s “red flag” law passed in 2018.

Democrats in control of the Massachusetts legislature rejected amendments from Republicans that would have tied in mental health services to those subject to a protective order, according to Wallace, who says it was clear that Democrats viewed the legislation as a gun bill, not a mental health bill. Unfortunately, that’s just one of many problems with the legislation, and other states around the country are putting almost identical laws on the books.
