Pennsylvania State Rep. Aaron Bernstine wants residents of Pennsylvania to have the option of carrying a concealed firearm without the need for a permit.

Under House Bill 1412, the permitting process would still be in place for those who want a permit for state reciprocity reasons, but would not be required for those who can lawfully own firearms.

“If you only want to carry in Pennsylvania, you should not need a concealed license to carry,” Bernstine said. “We have that under Article 1, Section 21, of the Pennsylvania Constitution where it says the right to bear arms shall not be questioned.”

Bernstine is certain that the bill would pass, but isn’t so sure that the Governor would sign it.
