Patterning turkeys can be every bit as tricky as patterning trophy bucks. The basic problem is the same: you don’t know where the turkeys are or their pattern of their movement. You need to see them to find that out. But if they see you, your presence can blow them out of their pattern. And as every hunter knows, turkeys have really good eyesight.
The second critical problem is that you have to be there. However much you enjoying being in the turkey woods, you can’t be there all day, every day. Even if you pattern the birds successfully one day, that pattern may or may not be holding up a week later, let alone for the entire season.
