A bill was introduced last Wednesday in the Ohio House that would allow all Ohio residents, 21 and older and with no felonies, to carry a concealed firearm without a permit.

Also known as Constitutional Carry.

Nearly half of the Republican House members were on board for the bill. But will it pass? It’s not the first time it’s been introduced.

House Bill 174 was introduced Wednesday by GOP Reps. Ron Hood of Ashville and Tom Brinkman of Cincinnati. The measure immediately attracted 27 co-sponsors from among the 61 majority House Republicans. Hood and Brinkman have introduced the same legislation for years without winning passage.
