nra backs down after comcast demands ad spot changes for outdoors show

A gun control group in Pennsylvania is calling for its supporters to thank Comcast for getting the NRA to change its TV ad spots that depicted children with guns at the outdoors show.

CeaseFirePA praised Comcast for “standing up to the gun lobby” after the cable giant demanded that the National Rife Association edit one of its advertisements for the Pennsylvania outdoors show in Harrisburg in February, according to reports from Philly.com.

The NRA runs the Great American Outdoor Show which runs from February 6th through the 4th.

Originally the NRA refused to make the ad changes as the children in all of the short clips were well supervised with safety officers and showed nothing violent or incendiary.

It’s obvious that only someone who is an anti-gun activist would have a problem with the spot. The NRA had originally responded with this comment from spokesman Kyle Jillson,
