The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-Greensboro) has developed a significant problem with sexual predators. Greensboro police have warned UNCG students to make sure their windows and doors are locked after four different incidents of female students being inappropriately touched by strangers while they slept.

“Anytime you have someone break into another person’s residence and touch them or have some kind of physical contact with them that is very alarming to us,” said Capt. Nathaniel Davis of the Greensboro Police Department.

So far, the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) has received 28 reports of break-ins or attempted break-ins throughout the college town in the last two months alone.

“This is concerning to us at the police department and we just want to make sure that all of our residents are safe,” said Davis. “Our college students come here to get an education and they have opportunities to live off campus and we just want to make sure that those experiences are good experiences for them and not one that they are afraid.”

GPD has taken to Facebook to warn off-campus students about the break-ins, which typically occur between 2:30 a.m. and 6:15 a.m.
