Media Discovers, Flips Out Over Years-Old Guided Bullet Technology

DARPA—the guys having the most fun with your tax dollars—posted a press release last June about the EXACTO .50 BMG guided bullets they’ve developed. For whatever reason, the mainstream media has just checked their email inboxes, and are collectively soiling themselves about it today.

Even more amusing about the collective freak-out is that with DARPA publishing this information for public consumption last summer, you can almost guarantee that has been tested and in combat use among elite units for quite a while on specialized missions, though you aren’t likely to get anyone in SOCOM to confirm that.
