The rugged new Mauser M18 is pitched as the iconic bolt action rifle brand’s version of the Volkswagon– chambered in everything from .243 to .300 Win.
Mauser CEO Matthias Klots and Blaser CEO Christian Sooher will be on hand Wednesday at SHOT Show in Las Vegas to officially launch the new Mauser M18 rifle to the U.S. market. The M18 joins the company’s existing M12 and M03 lines of bolt action rifles as well as their tried and true M98 series. Offered in a wide array of calibers ranging from traditional whitetail deer calibers such as .243, .270 and .308 to hard-hitting 30.06, 7mm Rem and .300 Win with the long-legged 6.5 Creedmoor to boot, the $699 M18 is billed as the “People’s rifle” (Volkswaffe) or “People’s repeater” (Volksrepetierer) by the German rifle maker.

The detachable 5+1 magazine, user-adjustable trigger and synthetic stock with soft grip inlays are standard across the line. Standard calibers ship with 22-inch cold hammer forged barrels while magnum calibers go a little longer at 24.4.
