Man arrested for pulling gun on city boot worker

A 36-year-old man from Chicago is facing charges of aggravated assault with a weapon after he pulled a gun on a city boot worker earlier this month.
Lemuel Johns was arrested Thursday for the Sept. 1 incident, which was captured on surveillance video. He is being held on a $35,000 bond.
Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Brogan said in court Saturday that Lemuel Johns pulled out a black handgun and told the worker, “You can get shot. You better not be looking at my license plate.”
Prosecutors say the worker was clearly identified as a Finance Department employee by the marked city van he was driving, as well as a vest with the city-issued star. Johns was identified by surveillance video that showed him leaning against a vehicle, later determined to be registered to Johns.
