Kim Kardashian pens letter calling for more gun control: ‘All of my security team is armed, but…’

Despite admitting that her entire security team is armed, reality television personality Kim Kardashian penned a letter last week calling for stricter gun control.

Kardashian wrote the letter in honor of “national gun violence awareness day.”

In the letter, Kardashian appealed to emotions by citing the anniversaries of America’s most tragic incidents perpetrated by people with guns, including Sandy Hook in 2012, Virginia Tech in 2007, Columbine in 1999 and Orlando last year.

Kardashian also attacked President Donald Trump for revoking new gun regulations enacted by former President Barack Obama last year. The regulations required the Social Security Administration to report to the FBI the names of people who have been deemed “mentally incapable” of managing their finances, according to NPR, and affected nearly 75,000 Americans.

“In almost 20 years, our country has made very little progress in enacting laws that would help protect innocent Americans from people who should not have access to firearms,” Kardashian wrote. “This is crazy!”

Noting that she works with Everytown, an organization diametrically opposed to the National Rifle Association, Kardashian highlighted the “disconnect” between the laws “the country needs to protect our people” and the laws that Congress actually introduces and approves.
