Mass shootings tend to garner headlines and for good reason. They’re horrific events that rattle the public to our very core. The random nature of them shocks us and terrifies us to an extreme and thus, the media covers it and tries to push policy based on the ensuing emotions.

After four mass shootings in the month of August, we had an event-free September.

If only we could say that for October. Right now, we can’t.

Four people were killed and five others were injured during a shooting early Sunday morning at a bar in Kansas City, Kan.

The five people who were wounded suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals, according to a statement by the Kansas City police department.

Police spokesman Thomas Tomasic said a call came in around 1:27 a.m. about a shooting in the area around 10th Street and Central Avenue. Tomasic said that when officers arrived at the Tequila KC bar, they found four people dead inside.

Police said the shooters were armed with handguns.

This isn’t what anyone wants. No one wants to see innocent life taken.

Well, I get the feeling this guy kind of likes it.
