“City probers are investigating a correction officer who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg when his service weapon accidentally discharged inside a Brooklyn jail,” nydailynews.com reports. “Correction Officer John Santiago inadvertently fired a round into his left leg as he was holstering his gun inside the Brooklyn Detention Complex at 11:22 a.m. Saturday, records show. It was not clear why he had removed the gun. All department shootings are reviewed.
