EDGEFIELD, S.C. -(Ammoland.com)- Keith Higgins of South Carolina claimed top honors in the Turkey Shoot finals following a shoot off with Brandon Powell of Georgia.

The annual Turkey Shoot was held August 17 – 20 at the NWTF’s Palmetto Shooting Complex.

“Winning the Turkey Shoot has long been a goal of mine and is another milestone in my shooting career,” said Higgins. “I’ve been shooting Sporting Clays for over 12 years, winning numerous state, regional and national titles and this win ranks right up there with all of those. Hundreds of shooters competed throughout the three-day-event but all the excitement culminated on Sunday afternoon as two of the top shooters were tied at the end of the regular competition rounds.

After a shoot off, Higgins came away with the title. Higgins broke eight of 10 clays to edge out Powell’s five of 10. Powell had claimed top honors in the annual competition for the past six years.
