Heckler & Koch has been awarded a contract to supply German Special Forces with a new rifle.

The press release from Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology of the German Armed Forces) says HK will provide the German Special Commando Forces (KSK) and the German Naval Special Commando Forces with its newly-developed HK416 A7 rifle. The plan right now is to roll it out to Special Forces starting in early 2019, but testing is slated to begin next month.
