500 people where in a nightclub waiting for the New Year in Instanbul, then this happens.

A gun attack on Reina nightclub in Istanbul has left at least 35 people dead and more than 40 people wounded, according to the city’s governor. Ten people are said to be in a serious condition.

Some 500-600 people are thought to have been inside, celebrating the new year.

Wielding Kalashnikovs, the attacker/s reportedly opened fire on police outside the club, before entering the venue and shooting at random.

Turkey already has a ton of gun control laws, I did a google search and found this in an anti-gun article about Turkey:

“A would-be gun-owner has to be at least 21-years-old and possess a medical report confirming his or her mental and psychical health. They would also need to pay $1,600 for two permits: one is for possession while the other is for carrying.

After meeting these requirements, a provincial governor has to approve these two licenses; their duration is for five years.
