Multiple news outlets are reporting that George Zimmerman appears to have sold the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin four years ago.

After multiple attempts to list the firearm on various auction sites, the firearm looks to have sold to bidder “John Smith” for a whopping $137,600 on the auction site United Gun Group.

There has been a public outcry over the selling of the firearm since the news of the potential sell first came out. However, some groups see the selling of the firearm as Zimmerman’s right. Others see the gun as a piece of American history, similar to Al Capone’s Colt .38 that was recently auctioned off for $108,447. Ironically, there was no outrage over the selling of Capone’s gun, even though it was tied to the 1929 St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, and Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges.
