Authorities in Chicago are investigating a deadly shooting that happened over the weekend, involved a father and his son, and apparently stemmed from an argument about walking the dog.
The incident unfolded Sunday morning just after 8 a.m. in a home on the city’s far south side. Police have not released the names of those involved but confirmed that a “verbal altercation” over “who was going to walk the dog” escalated into an exchange of gunfire between the two men.
Both men were shot and subsequently transported to the hospital, where the 22-year-old son was pronounced dead. The father, who is 43, was initially listed in critical condition. His current condition is unknown.
Police recovered two weapons from the scene.
