By gunwriter I got no problem with folks who like to hunt with big guns. I have a .35 Whelen and a .45/70 I like to use and both – appropriately loaded – will near cross your eyes when you pull the trigger. The problem I have is with folks who think they need a big gun and with others who tell them they do. I also take issue with the notion that hard kicking guns can be shot just as well as light kicking guns. The folks who say this are either trying to justify their infatuation with big guns or just can’t shoot very well to start with. My work with scout rifles over the last three years has found me shooting a lot and I’ve found Hornady’s Custom Lite .308 Winchester load ideal for practice and most of the big game hunting done in North America.
