Dixie Chicks’ Take on Restraining Orders: Should Have Been A Defensive Gun Use?

This chestnut was unleashed the conservatively reviled Dixie Chicks some six years ago. SPOILER ALERT: Earl’s abused wife murders Earl with poison peas. If Wanda had been armed before that fateful dinner she might never have been abused in the first place. Or could have terminated her husband with extreme prejudice at the time of an attack. That said, it behooves all of us with daughters to teach them to value their lives so as not to take abuse. I recently heard of a woman who was abused by her husband on her wedding night. She left him the next morning. Like that. Or sooner. As for restraining orders, they’re as flimsy as the paper they’re written on.
