Dave Sevigny of FN demonstrated its latest striker-fired 9mm pistol called the FN 509 at the Arizona Game and Fish Expo.
The pistol features a four-inch cold hammer-forged barrel. This process is one of FNs trademarks for barrel manufacturing. It comes with luminescent sites and interchangeable backstraps, which allows for customization of the grip size for bigger or smaller hands.
FN has also improved texture on the gun in areas where more grip is necessary. Front and rear serrations on the slide make it easier to press-check or come over the top to chamber a round. It comes with a 17-round magazine and a standard 1913 rail.
Sevigny then demonstrated the pistol on the range. It shot very well in his hands. The FN 509 has an MSRP of $649.
