New York Mayor Bill De Blasio is certainly some kind of special. In an attempt to convince us of the positive benefits of gun control, he boldly made a statement that is worthy of a full-blown NRA campaign.

“I’m not a criminologist but I can safely say that guns are being taken off the street in an unprecedented way. Some people (unfortunately) are turning to a different weapon – thank God, typically a less deadly weapon – but they’re turning to a different weapon,” the mayor said. “Well, guess what that means. The NYPD will now go get those weapons.”

For once, the man speaks the truth. Criminals, when void of the option of a gun for a weapon, will turn to a different weapon.

Well ya don’t say.

The streets of the Big Apple are a little meaner these days, seeing an influx in random attacks with objects other than guns such as knives and razors. In fact, the first six weeks of 2016 set a disturbing pace, averaging more than 10 stabbing attacks per week.
