I’ll leave it to TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia to properly fisk the above Facebook posting by the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence’s Christmas Day post. For my part, I’ll say this: self-defense is a natural right. While I would never criticize someone for practicing non-violence, I would never remove any man’s right or ability to defend his or other innocent life by any means necessary. “Justified” violence may not be spiritual, but yes, it is inspiring. It inspires others to do the same, creating a society where the rule of law can exist. The best case for anyone seeking peace and prosperity. As for the second paragraph . . .

Gun owners do not see all people as “dangerous others.” But they do recognize that some people could be a “dangerous other,” and take steps to prevent that person from injuring or taking innocent life. That’s reality. No argument that “the power to build community life in each one of us.” Those who do not seek to interfere with their fellow man’s non-violent pursuit of happiness – a description that does not apply to the CSGV and its adherents – does much to build that community. That is all. Your thoughts?
