CMMG Adds 40-Caliber Models to Banshee, Resolute Lines

CMMG recently announced the addition of .40 S&W models to both the Banshee and Resolute lines. Both models include the company’s Radial Delayed Blowback (RDB) operating system, which CMMG claims takes the snap out of the .40-caliber cartridge.

The Radial Delayed Blowback operating system incorporates a mechanical delay that forces the bolt to rotate and unlock, according to CMMG. This momentarily slows the bolt carrier group, which allows chamber pressure to fall before cycling. CMMG says this mechanical delay allows for reliable function with a wide variety of ammunition and removes the need for a heavy bolt, buffer and spring required in direct blowback systems. According to CMMG, the Radial Delayed Blowback design significantly cuts felt recoil. It also directs more gas down the barrel, resulting in cleaner function and real advantages when using a suppressor.

Another welcome feature for some will be the patent pending last-round, bolt-hold-open feature. All CMMG rifle and pistols utilizing Glock magazines lock back on the last round, according to CMMG.
