Body Cam Video Shows the Split Second Decision That Saved Officer’s Life

Body camera video from an officer in Denver, CO shows just how fast things can turn ugly for law enforcement just doing their job.

After the officer pulled a man in a white GMC Yukon over in a routine traffic stop, footage from his body camera walks viewers through his approach to the passenger side of the vehicle to see the driver holding a rifle. As the officer moves to the driver’s side of the vehicle, the driver exits the vehicle and attacks.

The officer drew his service weapon and fired two shots at the man, striking him in the arm. The officer was able to detain the suspect until backup arrived.
