Editors note: That brings the total number of known dogs killed by wolves this year to 11. As the season progresses we can most definitely expect more pets to be killed more as wolves expand their pack sizes.

MADISON, WI –-(Ammoland.com)- On August 1 2015, Wisconsin Wildlife Services confirmed that wolves killed a 4 year old female Plott bear hound and a 4 year old male Plott bear hound of the same hunting party. The attacks occurred in the town of Summit, Douglas County Wisconsin.

Hunters are reminded to use the caution area maps on the DNR website (dnr.wi.gov, keyword “wolf management“) to help reduce conflicts during this year’s bear dog training and hunting seasons.

Each year, with the beginning of the Wisconsin bear hound training and hunting season, hunters are reminded to exercise caution if they plan to train or hunt bear with hounds. Hunters should use the caution area maps below to help reduce conflicts during this year’s bear dog training and hunting season.
