Wisconsin –-(Ammoland.com)- I was in the base barber shop on Altus Air Force Base waiting to get my hair cut. The Wing safety officer was in the barber chair ahead of me and was taking some good natured kidding about the fact he had lowered the speed limit in base housing from 20 MPH to 15 MPH.

People where complaining that 15 MPH was just too slow and too hard to maintain. But the truth was who cares if it is a little bit of inconvenience to drive 15 MPH, it is a safety issue.

There are many small children in base housing, and some who may tend to play in the streets. In my house we called that a Barney Safety Issue, Barney being the purple dinosaur that has the children’s show.
