United States -(AmmoLand.com)- Today Arizona took steps to head off an overreaching government by passing a bill that stops any new federal gun control measure from being enforced in Arizona.

Senate Bill 1330 introduced by Kelli Ward prevents state agencies or any of their employees from participating in any enforcement of any new federal gun control measures.

“We have got to take these things into our hands. We have got to assert our states’ rights,” Ward said during the debate of the bill.

Ward has good ground to stand on using case law. The bill sites Printz v. United States which rule certain provisions of the Brady Bill were unconstitutional mainly that the federal government requiring the Chief of Law Enforcement to run background checks on firearms buyer. Arizona is using that decision as precedent to not comply with the new regulations.
