Phoenix, AZ -(AmmoLand.com)- The Arizona Elk Society (AES) is pleased to announce that two AES board members have received prestigious awards from the Arizona Department of Game and Fish Commission.

The purpose of the awards is to recognize Arizonans who have contributed significantly to the conservation of the state’s wildlife, its outdoor heritage and the mission of the Arizona Game and Fish Department. AES President Richard Williams received the “2015 Mentor of the Year” award and Executive Director, Steve Clark received the “2015 Conservationist of the Year” award.

The recipients of the Commission awards were selected at the Commission’s meeting held on September 4, 2015. The Commission honored the recipients at the Annual Arizona Game and Fish Commission Awards Banquet, which took place Saturday January 16, 2016, at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix.

Rich and Steve both have an unyielding passion for wildlife and preserving hunting heritage across the State of Arizona, their dedication to conservation and preservation is greatly appreciated and also clearly recognizable in the meadows where they restore habitat for many species, and in the youth they mentor through on-going AES outdoor educational programs.
