As pro-gun lawmakers in South Carolina press on with their efforts to make the Palmetto State the 28th in the nation to allow lawful citizens to carry firearms for self-defense without a permit, the proposal’s future is still uncertain.
House Bill 3594, formally called the “South Carolina Constitutional Carry/Second Amendment Preservation Act of 2023,” was passed by the state Senate last week. That’s the good news. The not so good news is the Senate passed it with a number of amendments.
