71-year-old defends himself during attempted armed robbery, WAVY, Hampton Roads, Va. 03/13/16, WTKR, Hampton Roads, Va. 03/14/16

A pair of robbers, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, approached a 71-year-old man in Hampton, Va. and demanded cash. The elderly man responded by drawing a gun and firing at one of the robbers, striking and killing him, and causing his accomplice to flee. Police apprehended the surviving robber a short time later.
Following the incident, Hampton Police Public Information Officer Ashley Jenrette told a local news outlet, “The victim did fear for his safety. He was cooperative. He called 911, he remained on scene so officers could speak with him…he will not be charged.” …Read the Rest
