Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- The first time was a charm for 4-year-old Brayden Free of Luverne.

The tyke shot his first wild turkey ever this season. Brayden’s dad, Chase, posted a photo of the youngster with his turkey taken in Crenshaw County on the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association Facebook page and that entry won the 2015 Big Gobblers Photo Contest.

Brayden’s win made it a clean sweep for the Free family in ALBBAA Facebook photo contests this year as his father won the Big Buck Contest in March.

More than 200 readers “liked” the photo, earning Brayden a one-of-a-kind turkey call crafted by Willow Sage Woodworks of Uniontown, Ala., and a Carry-Lite Decoy. The prize package is valued at more than $200. The handmade Willow Sage turkey call is an excellent hunting tool, but it would also be a great family heirloom just to display, or to show off the repurposed or locally grown wood used in its production.

More than two dozen photos were submitted for the contest, and almost 1,400 votes were cast.
