With Concealed Carry Comes Responsibility

“With Concealed Carry, comes responsibility.” That’s hardly a line that is unreasonable or one that CCW permit holders do not already agree too. And I do not think we need to explain our reasoning for obtaining a permit either.
While enjoying a nice fishing trip for Memorial Day with some friends who also had a few children at Antelope Lake, I was of course, armed. I was concealing, as I do every other day, on the front of my body with my belly band. None of them knew. No one asked or noticed that I had a decent-sized gun strapped to my body under my shirt. Yet I would have defended, as best I could, any of those children or others if I had to.
I know that they were all pro-gun people, hunters and wives who know how to make venison into a tasty stir-fry, yet I still said nothing. I always say nothing. No one ever knows I’m carrying. When asked why I wasn’t drinking a beer, of course I had to say “I just don’t feel like it. I’ll have a water.”
