Representative Lucy McBath (D-Georgia) was elected primarily on a gun control platform. Her entire campaign revolved around her anti-gun activism, an effort that began after a man with a gun killed her son. She made it a focal point of her message and was able to unseat Republican incumbent Karen Handel.

Now, she’s a member of the United States House of Representatives, but guess what?

It seems she doesn’t have time to serve her constituents.

A letter obtained by InsiderAdvantage to a constituent of newly-elected U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath, D-Ga., admits her office is unable to fulfill routine constituent requests. It recommends a constituent’s request for help be shifted to the staff of U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.

The link includes a copy of the letter McBath sent to a constituent.

In it, she claims that since she took office on January 3, 2019, she’s received a high volume of correspondences and thanks them for their patience while her office develops their mail system.

InsiderAdvantage wonders why no staff was maintained to ease the transition, but I know the answer to that. Handel is a Republican, and so all of her staff was suspect. Thus, they needed to go.
