GFP Commission Proposal for Archery Deer Season Includes Adams Homestead and Access Permits for Newton Hills

South Dakota -(Ammoland.com)- The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Commission has proposed 20 archery access permits for Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve for antlerless deer hunting in 2015.

The proposed archery season would run from Sept. 26, 2015 – Jan. 15, 2016. Archery hunters would be able to apply for these free permits after obtaining an antlerless whitetail archery deer license.

Antlerless whitetail deer licenses will not be valid in the shaded areas of the map; which includes Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Brown County.

Due to its proximity to Sioux Falls and other populated areas, Newton Hills State Park is heavily used by archery deer hunters. A rule proposal would require any resident or nonresident deer hunter possessing an archery any deer license to obtain and possess a free access permit to hunt Newton Hills State Park.
